Project 7 - Traditional Granny Motif 

In project 7 you will get the opportunity to practice reading patterns, holding the hook and yarn, creating a slipknot, doing a yarn over, chain stitch, triple treble crochet, and a slip stitch, work in rounds, work in a chain space, change colour, increase, finish/fasten off and weave ends.

Instructions: 

Ch5, join to the first ch with slst to form ring. 

Note: Begin each round with a ch3 which counts as the first tr of the round.

Round 1: Into the ring ch3, 2tr then ch2, *tr3 then ch2* 3 times, join with slst into the top of ch3 from the beginning of the round.  FO.  (4 groups of 3tr not counting ch2 sps)

Round 2: Change colour slst into any corner ch2 sp, ch3, then 2tr, ch2, 3tr, into the same space to create the corner, then *3tr in each of the next sps, (3tr, ch2, 3tr) to create the corner* rep from * to * 3 times, 3tr in each of the next sps, join with slst into the top of ch3 from the beginning of the round.  FO.  (6 sts per side)

Round 3-7: Repeat round 2.    Round 3 = 9 sts per side

                                                  Round 4 = 12 sts per side

                                                  Round 5 = 15 sts per side

                                                  Round 6 = 18 sts per side

                                                  Round 7 = 21 sts per side

Round 8+: Repeat round 2 to make a bigger square.
