Next Steps Project 1: Shell and Cluster Motif

Notes:

1.      Shell Stitch = 7 treble crochets into the same stitch.

2.      Partial Shell Stitch = at the beginning of a row into the same stitch the ch3, 3 treble crochets, at the end of a row, 4 treble crochets into the same stitch.

3.      Cluster Stitch = begin to create a treble crochet (yarn over, insert hook, yarn over pull through, yarn over pull through 2 – Do not complete the stitch) repeat these partial trebles into the next 7 stitches, then complete the last yarn over and pull through all 7 stitches together.

4.      Partial Cluster Stitch = at the beginning of a row after the ch3, create partial trebles into the next 3 stitches, and complete the last yarn over with ch3 together, at the end of a row create partial trebles into the last 4 stitches, and complete the last yarn over together.

5.      dc into the centre stitch of the shell below.

6.      dc into the dc from the row below.

Instructions: 

Using your chosen yarn make ch26.

Row 1: Work dc in 2nd ch from the hook, dc in each ch to the end of row, turn.

Row 2: Ch1, dc into each st to the end of the row, turn.

Row 3: Ch1, *dc, sk2 sts, shell stitch1, sk2 sts* rep from* to * 3 more times, dc into the last stitch, turn.

Row 4: Ch3, partial cluster stitch4, ch3, dc5, ch3, *cluster stitch3, ch3, dc5, ch3* rep from* to * 2 more times, partial cluster stitch4, turn.

Row 5: Ch3, partial shell stitch2, dc6,* shell stitch, dc6* rep from * to * 2 more times, partial shell stitch, turn.

Row 6: Ch1, dc, ch3, cluster stitch3, ch3* rep from * to * 3 more times, dc into the last st, turn.

Row 7: rep row3.

Row 8: rep row 4.

Final row: ch1, dc into each st to the end of the row.  FO.

Row 5: Ch3, partial shell stitch2, sc6,* shell stitch, sc6* rep from * to * 2 more times, partial shell stitch, turn.

Row 6: Ch1, sc, ch3, cluster stitch3, ch3* rep from * to * 3 more times, sc into the last st, turn.

Row 7: rep row3.

Row 8: rep row 4.

Final row: ch1, sc into each st to the end of the row.  FO.
